I'm Ludo. I don't believe in the safe path — I build the things I see missing instead of accepting what's already there. Not everything I've started has worked. That's fine.

Kumaa Group is two of those things. Kumaa Pay, because everyone was building fraud protection for the end user and nobody was protecting the merchant — and because I think the world's financial rails should talk to each other a lot more easily than they do. Everyone should get to bank however they want, regardless of how everyone else banks. Kumaa Anima, because so much of what's wrong in the world is tied to how we treat animals, and the attention always goes to the same few species while the rest get ignored. Pigeons first. Chickens are next. More after that.

Then there's the Land Rover — Winston, a 1997 300 TDI, completely refurbished by now, every nut and bolt. Two reasons for the Landy specifically: you can take it anywhere, and if I actually learn to fix it myself, it'll outlast whatever the world throws at it — apocalypse included.

Travel is the places as much as the people, for me. Seeing nature that genuinely takes your breath away does something to you — it lifts the soul, plain and simple. And when you actually meet a culture instead of just hearing about it, the differences that seemed so large shrink, and it gets a lot easier to love than to hate.

Lola, my feathered best friend, rides along for most of it. She's not the only one — I've had pigeons, a chicken, a quail, and a budgie too. I don't think caring for animals is something we should get credit for; it's the bare minimum, given what we've done to the world around them. How we treat them is a stain on humanity's soul.

My mother says one quote sums up my life exactly, from Arthur C. Clarke: "To know the limits of the possible, one must go beyond them into the impossible." Life runs longer than it feels in any given moment, and shorter than you think when you look at the whole of it. I'd rather spend mine seeing as much of this world as I can than doing nothing with it.
